★★★★★ "The only newsletter I'm forwarding every time."

This coming November 13, a global holiday World Kindness Day will be observed in many countries including but not limited to the United States, Canada, Australia, Italy, and India. The purpose of this special day is to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness, which binds people everywhere. It is a day that would help raise awareness of the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world.

We believe that as a marketer, you are already committing random acts of kindness daily – by creating memorable customer experiences, by innovating ways to adapt to changing clients' needs, and merely by being sincere to your brand mission.

Try these strategies to show love on World Kindness Day and at the same time, inspire goodwill to your email newsletter subscribers.

  1. Inspire act of sharing as a goodwill
  2. Nominate someone kind to win a prize
  3. Treat someone to reciprocate kindness
  4. Feature someone who can share wisdom and inspiration
  5. Be kind to yourself too

Inspire act of sharing as a goodwill

One for you, one for me.

Sent by Doisy and Dam

Doisy and Dam is a food brand that sells chocolates made from vegan, ethical cocoa ingredients. They also offer a monthly subscription box.

In the email example below, they used the classic “One for you, one for me” line which connotes sharing something good. They made their message clear with a banner text that specifies the exact day (i.e. Saturday) and what it is about (i.e. World Kindness Day). Their proposition sounded stronger with the statement “Kindness means sharing…”  then followed by the name and image of their featured product. Then, of course, accompanied by a CTA to redirect you where to shop. Now you know exactly what to share.

This is actually an example of a two-way act of sharing. When you buy, you can share it with someone you know. And when you buy, Doisy and Dam will also share a freebie that was mentioned down in the email body.

Nominate a kind person to win a prize

🦸‍♀️ Spreading kindness (& Tequila)

Sent by El Rayo Tequila

El Rayo Tequila is a beverage brand known for its modern tequila designed to pair with tonic.

In this email example, they encouraged their email subscribers to think of the kindest person they know and nominate him/her with some kind of a reply letter telling them about his/her good deeds that made them choose that person. For the purpose of this nomination, the awardee will be given a bottle of tequila and tonic, and merch like T-shirt. What a good way to celebrate the occasion and at the same time, promote your product.

Treat someone to reciprocate kindness

KINDNESS GUIDE

Sent by Organic basics

Organic basics is a fashion brand that sells underwear, activewear and essentials made ethically in Europe with organic cotton and recycled materials.

They encouraged people to be a little kinder to themselves. They presented their email in a simple, easy to read and easy to digest “kindness guide”. The email copy was presented with a plain background color that adds to its simplicity. To add up, they created a gift guide in line with their proposition. You’ll find the gift guide (their eco-friendly products) in a click of CTA located just below the block.
